I hope everyone had a great time ringing in 2009!
I had a date. He picked me up about 8pm and we went to RockBottom in uptown. We enjoyed some brews and some steak (I had a 14oz. NY Strip..YUM!) before coming back to my place to watch the ball drop. We spent most of the night talking, except to toast at midnight (scotch for him, Asti for me). He flew out the next day for San Diego (for a coaches' conference) and I spent New Year's Day doing absolutely nothing, and loving it!
Bella and I went to visit my parents on Friday. Adina drove up from Greenville and we all watched the Pirates take on the Wildcats of Kentucky. Even though we lost (and in some ways, ROBBED!), I still can't be disappointed with the season. We beat 2 nationally ranked teams, won our division, got to the conference championship game and won AND went to a bowl game. While a Liberty Bowl victory would've been the cherry on top, the rest is just as sweet! I am PROUD to be a PIRATE!
Adina left Saturday. Mom and I went to South Point and enjoyed some mother-daughter time. Bella and I came back yesterday.
It's a new year and a new chapter. I wonder what this year will bring!
