In my "years in review" post, I mentioned that presenting my design portfolio in my interview pretty much sealed the deal with my boss; and, several times she's mentioned me drawing maps for land use plans, etc. Every time she'd bring it up, I would internally jump up and down while wondering.."When?!"). Well, in our last staff meeting she told me that she would like me to do some drawings (renderings) of landscape options. To which I responded, "Okay!" with a big smile on my face. We had been talking about the NC3 Corridor plan, so I thought it would be for the buffer options. Maybe in the future, but right now I'm working on renderings for the ordinance. My handiwork will be available for everyone to see (even if it will be property of the county..small price to pay). Yipee! So, even though it's not much (especially compared to the perspectives I have in my office), I thought I'd post a copy of what she'd like me to do. Something similar, making sure all the information is shown. (The example is taken from the Harrisburg UDO.)
I'm excited. Oh, and I get to do it in color! (I brought my Prismacolor pencils and markers to work today!) :D
